{"id":16928,"date":"2017-07-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-07-16T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kefim.org\/tax-freedom-day-counts-numerous-media-hits\/"},"modified":"2017-07-17T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-07-16T21:00:00","slug":"tax-freedom-day-counts-numerous-media-hits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kefim.org\/en\/tax-freedom-day-counts-numerous-media-hits\/","title":{"rendered":"Tax Freedom Day counts numerous media hits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KEFiM&#8217;s research about <strong>Tax Freedom Day 2017<\/strong> was conducted for the third consecutive year by our organization and it was presented during a special press conference on the 27th of June in Athens.<\/p>\n<p>Its impressive results were featured in newscasts, TV shows, newspapers\u2019 headlines and popular newsites.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Big Plunder\u201d was the main title of the newspaper <strong>\u201cTA NEA\u201d<\/strong>, following the presentation of the research on 28th of July. On the same day <strong>\u201cKATHIMERINI\u201d<\/strong>, another popular newspaper, featured a relevant article under the title \u201c203 days of work just for taxes\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kyriakos Mitsotakis<\/strong>, leader of the main opposition paty <strong>\u201cNew Democracy\u201d<\/strong>, submitted the research as part of his speech minutes in the Parliament. Additionally, <strong>Stavros Theodorakis<\/strong>, leader of <strong>Potami<\/strong> party, extensively commented the research\u2019s results during his speech.<\/p>\n<p>The main media hits included articles in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.protothema.gr\/economy\/article\/692130\/douleuoume-203-imeres-to-hrono-gia-eforia-kai-tameia\/\">protothema.gr<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kathimerini.gr\/915843\/article\/epikairothta\/ellada\/oi-ellhnes-doyleyoyn-203-hmeres-ton-xrono-gia-eforia-kai-tameia\">kathimerini.gr<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tovima.gr\/society\/article\/?aid=888633\">tovima.gr<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eleftherostypos.gr\/oikonomia\/109876-o-ellinas-doyleyei-203-imeres-to-xrono-gia-eforia-kai-tameia\/\">eleytherostypos.gr<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ant1news.gr\/news\/m\/article?aid=477491\">ant1news<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.athina984.gr\/2017\/06\/27\/erevna-203-imeres-mesa-sto-2017-tha-klithoun-na-doulepsoun-i-ellines-gia-na-plirosoun-to-kratos\/\">athina984gr<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liberal.gr\/arthro\/148254\/epikairotita\/2017\/douleuoume-203-imeres-to-chrono-gia-to-kratos.html\">liberal.gr<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.star.gr\/politiki\/oikonomia\/376185\/23-ioylioy-giati-ayth-h-hmeromhnia-prokalei-sok-se-oloys-toys-ellhnes-ergazomenoys\">star.gr<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.star.gr\/politiki\/oikonomia\/376185\/23-ioylioy-giati-ayth-h-hmeromhnia-prokalei-sok-se-oloys-toys-ellhnes-ergazomenoys\">bankingnews.gr<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.gr\/oikonomia\/story\/86665\/o-ellinas-ergazomenos-doyleyei-203-imeres-to-xrono-gia-eforia-kai-tameia\">cnn.gr<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iefimerida.gr\/news\/346939\/o-ellinas-doyleyei-203-imeres-ton-hrono-gia-na-plironei-eforia-kai-asfalistika-tameia\">iefemerida.gr<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.inewsgr.com\/225\/erevna-oi-ellines-ergazontai-203-imeres-to-chrono-gia-tin-eforia-kai-ta-tameia.htm\">inews<\/a>\u00a0and many more.<\/p>\n<p>KEFiM\u2019s Executive Director, <strong>Nikos Rompapas<\/strong>, <strong>Miranda Xafa<\/strong>, member of KEFiM\u2019s Academic Board and <strong>Tasos Avrantinis<\/strong>, all appeared as guests in different TV shows in SKAI TV, while NEA TV prepared a special reportage about the research in Crete.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, various popular radio shows broadcasted the results of the research, while members from our team gave interviews in main radio stations, such as <strong>Parapolitika, Vima FM, Sky FM<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Alpha FM<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe positive response about Tax Freedom Day, indicates how crucial the need for reform and greater economic liberty in this country is.
