With great success and plenty of participation, KEFiM in collaboration with the European Liberal Forum (ELF) and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF), organized the workshop of \u201cEuropean Cities Network on Migration\u201d. The event aims at discussing to define the needs of labor markets and the demands\/needs of migrants in European cities and propose skills development programs for the refugees\/migrants based on that. So that, there will be a base for the policy recommendation for vocational training and other training programs for refugees\/migrants that will help them contribute to the societies they now live in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop was attended by experts, representatives and leaders of civil society institutions, ministry officials and local authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participants discussed the skills, needs and demands of migrants in Greece and Europe, the shortages and needs that exist in the labor market in the short and long term and how migrants could contribute to this. Later, they worked in small groups on issues related to existing migrant employment policies and training programs, and how to reach out to our stakeholders to help synchronize migrant skills and the needs of European markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The working group was coordinated by Constantinos Saravakos, Coordinator of KEFiM Research Programs, while the Executive Director of KEFiM, Nicos Rompapas, addressed a greeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Respective workshops will be held in Turkey, Spain and Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
