On June 16th, 295 years passed since the birth of the great Scottish intellectual and father of modern economics, Adam Smith.
Here at KEFiM we honor the life and work of this great defender of freedom with every opportunity. On May 8th, at the Markos Dragoumis Cultural Centre, we launched the new monthly series of events, “Freedom Pages” which were addressed to our members and guests, that included the presentation by the professor and member of KEFiM’s Academic Board, Panayiotis Evaggelopoulos, regarding the iconic, for liberal thinking and the Economic Science, work of Adam Smith “An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations” (1776).
At the same time, Adam Smith’s ideas and apostles are often presented by learnliberty.gr. We remind you of the video entitled “Adam Smith and the Invisible Hand” as well as the video included in our mini-series “Giants of the Scottish Enlightenment” which is devoted to the philosophical thought of this great intelectual.
And do not forget: “It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest.”.
