The presentation of the new editorial collaboration of KEFIM and Papadopoulos Publishing was successfully presented yesterday entitled The Profit Motive in Education – a collection of articles originally published by the iconic British think tank Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) with its main subject being the positive contribution of the private, not necessarily non-profit, initiative in education.
The IEA Director of Programs, Christiana Stewart-Lockhart, attended the event, greeted and spoke about the book.
In addition, the lawyer, member of KEFiM’s board of directors and author of the book “Εκπαίδευση: Ελεύθερη επιλογή, ή μια γάτα που γαβγίζει”, Tassos Avrantinis (see the slides of his extremely interesting presentation below), the president of Hellenic American University, Leonidas Phoebos Koskos and the member of the Association of Private Schools, Panagiotis Karamalis spoke about the book. The discussion was co-ordinated by Paschos Mandravelis.
During this discussion, Alexandros Skouras incorporated the initiative of publishing the book into KEFiM’s strategic planning within our four pillars of action (Influence Policy Making, Protecting Civil Liberties, Addressing Economic Illiteracy, Building the Liberty Movement), and briefly presented the next activities of the Center.
